Innocence (2018-2020) is a series of photograms inspired by the shapes and colors of the desert plants that formed under extreme conditions. Being in the desert is usually viewed as a time of solitude and retreat, however, for me, it’s a time of discovery. Despite heat and scarcity of resources, these fragile ecosystems have been managing to exist fairly well until recently. With changing climate, we witness even more opposites: draught after a super bloom with its burst of color, snow storms after scorching heat. I wanted to spend as much time with different plant and landscape formations as possible since they are so temporal and hard to get to yet so magical.
